Akiya Beach
The natural surroundings of the coastline with its cliffs of dark reddish-brown rocks together with the clear blue sea bring unexplained beauty. It is a very popular swimming and snorkeling spot and hosts many campers during the summer. Parking, dressing rooms, barbeque facilities, and restrooms are available. So even an amateur can enjoy camping on the seaside. |

Furoya
Beach
It is a small but cozy beach near the Utsuka Port of Ama-cho. Beautiful sandy beaches spread out for 80 meters. Sea is shallow and highly recommended for families with children. Parking, dressing rooms, barbeque facilities, and restrooms are available. |
Cautions
Topless or nudity is prohibited.
You must be careful of jellyfish during the late summer period (Late August- September). |
Diving
For beginners to experts, Ama Island is one of the greatest spots in the Oki Islands to enjoy diving. The gexperience divingh course is ideal for the beginners who have never been diving before. (Please note that the instruction will be in Japanese)

Sea kayak
Sea kayaking is one of the greatest ways to relax while having a look of rich nature of Ama. The uninhabited Island of Matsushima has been appointed as a Water Park by the ministry of environment. You will discover many caves and cliffs that are unreachable on foot. Various levels of difficulty and routes are available for all types of participants. |
Fishing
Ama Island is paradise for fishing enthusiasts. Naturally surrounded by the Sea of Japan, Ama has an abundance of great fishing points. Surf fishing and boat fishing are highly recommended. You can find sea bass, rock fish, sea bream and horse mackerel and many more others here in Ama. There are rental facilities for fishing equipment and boat hire. More than 5000 fishing enthusiasts arrive here to enjoy fishing annually. Fishing trips with local veteran fisherman can be reserved. Staying at a fishermanfs Minshuku is another way to enjoy fishing.
