The Japanese cuisines are undoubtedly one of the healthiest and most interesting diets in the world. In Island Ama you can enjoy the most delicious and very exceptional foods sometimes you can only find here.

Food culture in Japan is very complex and table manners are considerably differ from other countries

These are the small tips to remember when you are having your meal.

1. Japanese use chopsticks to eat.

2. before eat (they say Ithadakimasu, )and after the meal they say (Gochisosamadeshita) the meaning of the two words can not be translate directly in to English, but have the meaning of “ thanking for the delicious meal”)

3. Japanese make sound while eating noodle stuffs. Its not a bad manner in Japan

You can find most of the famous Japanese dishes in big cities in Japan, but if you long for really traditional and delicious Japanese cuisines, Ama is one of the greatest places to fulfill your desire.

Having surrounded by the Sea of Japan, Ama is rich of exceptional sea foods such as Oyster shell (いわがき) abalone (アワビ) and turban (さざえ) . Also the cuttlefish and many other fish such as globefish, sea bream, horse mackerel and sea bass. In addition to the delicious sea foods Ama is rich of seasonal fresh vegetables.

Important: convenience stores are not available in Ama. There are Japanese style restaurants and bars.
