BY FERRY
There are two main ports on the main land. Sakaiminato port in Tottori prefecture and Shichirui port in Shimane prefecture. There are important things to remember when you are choosing the ferry line.
1. Ferry schedules change according to the seasons. (high speed boat is not available during winter)
2. Some of the ferries do not stop at HIshiura port Ama; in that case you have to take a small local ferry to reach AMA from Nishinoshima Island (Urago port) or Chibu Island (Kurui port)
3. Ferries can be cancelled due to the weather conditions.
