AMA Island (AMA- cho) is located in the Sea of Japan about 60km north east of the Shimane Prefecture. AMA is one of the four main islands of OKI Island chain. The four main islands are divided in to two areas, DOZEN and DOGO. DOGO is the biggest in size and also by the population. DOZEN comprises of Nishinoshima Island, Chibu Island and AMA Island. AMA might be a small island but it has a lot to offer. Compared with Noshinoshima and Chibu Islands, AMA has larger flat areas used for rice paddies and has more water resources.
