運命に負けない人の晴れの舞台

　今日はさくらの家で皆と一緒に仕事しました。さくらの家というのは障害を持っている方々が一緒に集まって仕事している場所です。今日はその人たちとふくぎ茶作りに参加しました。私はさくらの家の人たちと一緒に活動するのは初めてだから少し緊張もありました。私が行く前からも皆仕事に励んでいました。

　私もふくぎ茶の葉っぱを切っていたおばあちゃんと一緒に作業を始めました。ふくぎ茶とうのは島で取れる木で作ったお茶です。ふくぎ茶がハーブ形お茶によく似ています。または独特の香りが持っています。ふくぎ茶の特徴はただいい香りだけではありません。それの健康効果にもびっくりしました。ふくぎ茶は胃にとてもいいというはなしを聞きました。昔から瑕のためにもよく使われていたみたい。さらに昔はお風呂にもよくいれていたみたいです。ふくぎ茶ってこんなに効果があるものだねって、わたしはすごく驚きました。

　もちろん商品も優れているものですが、そこで働いている人たちも商品に負けないぐらい素晴らしい人たちだと私が思いました。なぜかというと障害を持っていると思えないぐらい、一所懸命に働いているみんなの姿を見たからです。皆さんが朝 8.30 から午後の 3 時まで仕事しています。また順番で自分たちの昼ごはんも自分で作ります。昼休みのときは皆とゆっくり話すことが出来ました。皆さんが外国のことにもすごく興味を持っていて、びっくりするほどの知識を持っていました。

　皆さんが作業を終わって帰った後、さくらの家の管理をしていらっしゃる、本田さんに話を聞くことが出来ました。そこでふくぎ茶作りの今まであった課題、乗り越えたこと、これからの課題について聞くことが出来ました。または商品開発研修生が来てから、どうやって活動を変わったということも、知ることが出来ました。

　昔は、ふくぎ茶をただナイロン袋に入れて、島の中だけで販売していたみたい。そこで海士町役場の研修生と組んだことで、ふくぎ茶をブランド化することが出来たと本田さんがいう。ふくぎ茶をパッケジに入れて、商品として市場に出せるようになってからは、島以外のところでも売れるようになったという。

　Stage of the people, who are not defeated by the fate

　Today I worked in sakura no ie, the place where handicapped people worked together. It was my first experience to work with people like that. So I was little bit excited. They have started their work even before I went their.

　I was started to work with one of the grand ma who was cutting Fukugi leave.

　Fukugi is an herb tea which has its own special aroma smell. The importance is not only smell, I was greatly surprised by it herbal power. In the past it was used to stop bleeding and also for stomach ache. Not only that ,Fukugi also used in Japanese bath tub too, because of its nice smell.

　I was not only surprised for the fukugi tea but also surprised for the great people who work there. Most of them have some kind of impediment in mind or body. So normally we call them handicapped people. But when I was working with them I didn't feel that I am working with handicapped people. They are that much effective and dedicative for work. Sakurano ie starts work at 8.30 in the morning and work until 3.00 in the after noon.

　Every Wednesday they have their lunch together. Today Sentani san has prepared Chinese food for the members. I was lucky to take having lunch with them today. In the lunch time they were very keen to ask question from me. For most of them it was first time to meet a foreigner.

　After finishing the job I had a chance to talk with the two managers of the sakurano ie. From talking with Honda san and Okamoto san, I came to know the difficult road which they walked though until today. Honda san explains about the difficulties which they overcome and new challenges which have in front of them. In the past it was hard to sell fukugi tea, because they didn't have enough market to sell them. Honda san said that, sakurano ie was greatly changed after kenshusei（ study student ）came. In the past they didn't have the proper cover or package; having the guidance of kenshusei they were able to make a proper package. Honda san is saying that income is greatly increased after the package was made. Even though, the obstacles are still there. The production amount is still very few and it is hard to compete in the national market.
