| Originally from Galle , Sri Lanka ,I am presently living in Amacho shimane prefecture ,Japan, since July of 2006. I first came to Japan in 2001 as a university student in Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University Oita prefecture. When I was age of 10, Japanese drama Oshin was telecasted in Sri Lanka. It was very famous in Sri Lanka at that time. The girl was (oshin) same age as mine. At the age of ten I didn't understand the deep meaning inside of the drama, but inspired by her way of facing the challenges of life, by watching it for more than a year I able to understand how japan developed after the Second World War devastation, I think that piece of drama was the major reason why I am here in Japan today. Many people from my country come to Japan not for study but for earn money. So I chose a road where many people not used to walk, that was to study in Japan.
My university was an exceptional place where people from 70 different countries share their ideas together. I majored in business administration and graduated in September 2005. When I first came to Japan I didn't think that I want to work in Japan, contrary I felt sorry for the Japanese salary man who dedicate their whole life for the company, but when I was studying Japanese management practices and when I was came to know about Japan more and more my mindset was changed and I thought that I should work in Japan and get some working experience. So after the graduation I joined a company in Tokyo and worked in a sales and marketing team. Having working for 7months in that company I thought, it was not the job I want to do.
So when I was doing job hunting in Tokyo, my friend who lives in Amacho introduce me to this tiny Island, at the first sight I felt that it is a wonderful place in many means . Having fed up with the life in Tokyo I decided to live in this tiny island. There are many challenges in front of me, but I have a confidence that I can share my experience with the people and if I can able to contribute them to live a happy life that is the greatest achievement in my career |
